What is a bond builder and how does it work?
Bond builders are the newest hair revolution to hit the salons, really since the brazilan blowdry. However unlike the brazilan blowdry this newest innovation in haircare repairs damaged hair and reconstructs from the inside of the hair cortex and cuticle. , Effectively your safeguard against breakage, giving hair back the strength that could be lost due to too many salon processes or insuring the condition of the hair during colouring. Most of the leading salon brands have their own version out, Fibreplex by schwarzkopf, Olaplex, colorplex, L’oreal smartbond, B3 bond, innovex, sexy hair have bond maker, to name just a few.
While scrolling around the interwebs, thumbing your Instagram or watching your fave beauty blogger on youTube you may have had a taster of what they are. In fact probably the most famous example of this treatment would be when Kim Kardashian went platinum blond in one sitting from having very dark hair and back to black and still maintained the integrity of her hair. The world asked ( in my cynical mind because a brand must have paid her to do it!) How did she manage that and the answer is her stylist used a bond builder throughout the process as insurance.
Now while Kimmy K likes to take things to the extreme, we are living in a world where we are inspired to experiment more with our hair. A world of colour and the most fashionable colours and colour techniques include lightening and whichever way you dress it up and you know us we don’t! Those services will require peroxide to transform your hair, whether you are going the lightest blond to the most subtle of honey baby lights. And more women want to have vibrant colours. It is the norm now for a co-worker to have pink hair or the grey trend . All this means that your hair needs help more than ever and in the 50’s when Miss Marilyn Monroe was at her peak her hairstylist would have most definitely used bond builder on her , should it have been available! Oh and not to mention heat….straightening and drying can put your through it. So there are few of us that have absolutely perfect conditioned hair as a grownup human!
In our salon with have chosen a brand called Keune bond fusion( pronounced Quoon, like the words que and spoon have merged), we thought we would let you all know what an earth a bond builder is and how it works so when we mention Keune bond fusion you’d know what the heck we are talking about.
What is the Keune Bond Fusion Service
Bond fusion is a new service that we have in the salon. We can either perform it as a stand alone service or as part of your colour service. Like all of the bond builders on the market Keune bond fusion has three parts. Part 1 (the bond builder) can either be applied to your hair directly or we can add part one into the colour or lightener we are applying to your hair. This part reduces breakage by 43%. Part 2 we apply at the backwash and this seals in part 1 into the hair and makes the hair feel great. Part 3 is the take home treatment that acts as a booster to the treatment designed to use weekly and maintains the feel of the hair. We can also apply Keune Bond Fusion to your hair and you can sleep in it overnight ( this is what Kim Kardashian does)
