I’ll be honest. I’ve been on at Aimee for yonks to dye her hair purple. She laughed it off several times! And so when she tweeted me a picture of her new lovely lilac look I squealed with delight, it looks great! Obviously at WWW.comb we love purple 😉 Below is the before, mid way and the final result.
Aimee’s hair is naturally dark brown. In order to achieve a bright and true colour it is necessary to create a blank canvas. So first step is to bleach it blond. If you are a natural blond then you will find fun colours are easier to use and apply. Aimee had been bright Pink before and now fresh from a week in Portugal. The sun and sea had already done a good job of removing a lot of her old colour. Time for a change, a bit more bleach to take the last little bit of pink out and also do Aimee’s roots and then on with the violet crazy colour.
Fun colours are semi-permanent and designed to wash out over time. Although they won’t completely and if you are feeling brave and go for a greeny blue colour you’ll be left with a green tinge!
Coloured hair has been a trend over the last two years and shows no sign of disappearing. With celebrities like Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry really embracing the trend. While Lauren Conrad showing how you can wear bright colour and still maintain a ladylike sophistication. See our trend piece from last year
We create some great fashion forward effects in the salon. Coloured dip-dye, colour flashes that show from underneath a layered cut and coloured pieces on funky shorter styles.
