On Harriet’s previous visit we spoke about how she would like to grow her hair but it never grows past a certain point. She has naturally fine hair and wanted was long glamorous movie star hair. A prime candidate for Great Lengths hair extensions, we fixed up a time for Harriet to come in and have a free informal Great Lengths consultation. This isn’t a sales talk and we would never put pressure on somebody to have hair extensions.
The Consultation
At the consultation we can have a good talk about what can be achieved with great Lengths. Also colours available, length and the amount of hair to achieve the wow factor. These choices affect the price and so it is only at the consultation that we can give a quote. We also decided on what colour would enhance her natural hair colour and chose the extensions to match. Harriet was happy to go ahead. Great Lengths only take 2 days to be delivered.
The Appointment
First I prepare Harriet’s hair by cleansing the hair and cut Harriet’s hair to give a healthy foundation to put the extensions in. This is all part of the service at no extra charge.
Great lengths are put in very small pieces at a time which gives a fabulously natural look but takes time. As Harriet was having a full head of extensions we needed 5 hours and grabbed lunch during that time.
Harriet had 200 bonds of 20 inch extensions in a natural brown but also a few golden blonde which gave a pretty highlighted look. I shaped the hairstyle with a few layers around the face to make the overall hairstyle natural and flattering.
Styling Your Extensions
At first it might be a bit daunting because you have a lot more hair but you soon get used to it. Great Lengths are 100% human hair and can be styled as your own including any kind of heat styling, straightening or curling.
You natural hair will continue to grow and so continue to book in for any routine hair appointments you normally have to freshen up your style.
Caring for Your Great Lengths
To keep Great Lengths looking fabulous and long lasting it is good to follow the aftercare advice. If looked after Great Lengths will last you up to 6 months!
When having extensions at WWW.Comb you will get a free specially designed extension brush that you will need to use 3 times daily. This brush is great because you can brush it over the bonds without pulling on them and it hurting.
Before you go to bed brush your hair and put in a plait or pony tail as this keeps the bonds from having a chance of knotting.
When washing your Great Lengths it’s always best to wash them in the direction the hair falls. i.e downwards rather than having your head over the bath. Using a natural, moisturising and sulphate free shampoo and conditioner that is not too heavy. This is also available to buy at the salon.
With extensions it’s best to wash your hair gently and use conditioner from the mid lengths to the end and less at the root and where the extension bond is. Brush your hair as soon as you can after washing the hair. It’s best to wash the hair only about a couple of times a week
Harriet still has her extensions in and we have already been talking about her next set, so she will book in to have the old removed and the new ones put in!
Great Lengths start from £200 for a half head and £400 for a full head.
