To fringe or not fringe, that is the question? We regularly watch the blood drain from the face of clients and shakes start up when we utter the immortal words ….Ever fancied a fringe? And I think it’s mainly because they have one style of fringe in mind.
Fringes are big news for winter and some of Comb ladies have already succumbed to allure of a fringe. You’ll see next time you’re in! There is something quite sexy about a fringe. Like anything sexy…the hidden and the revealed. Slightly hiding your gaze can be quite mysterious.
However the “in” thing is a micro fringe. Yeah Google it! The micro fringe is a bold statement. Not for the faint hearted. I also think that when you ask about fringes you think this is our default setting! It is not. So worry not we have many fringe options to offer you.

I quite like it but I think it suits the hipster, retro rockabilly and more elfin featured to be honest. A few years back there was a spate of these fringes kicked off by the arty film Amelie. One of my personal girl crushes Audrey Tatou. A truly beautiful fine featured individual and the quirky fringe suited the character perfectly. Of course though the most iconic micro fringe was made famous by another classic beauty and Audrey, Audrey Hepburn. This was the inspiration for the Louis Vuitton show catwalk show. Hairdresser Guido put models in dark sixties inspired wigs including Kate Moss.
It’s a edgy cool look when teamed with a blunt bob, slightly more retro and shocking with long hair and less so with a short choppy hairdo that you can funk up or smooth down.

Something you need to consider with a micro fringe is your exposed eyebrows and the fact that your fringe is now a focus. A strong fringe needs strong brows or at least groomed brows. No brows and strong fringe is a look that is futuristic and just a bit too fashion for Ruislip?!
Fashion has also influenced this hair trend. You’ll see a nod to punk in the shops at the moment with racks of leather look and tartan check. Dark hair, strong berry lips and strong fringe completes the look.
If you are a fringe wearer you’ll know it needs to be kept trimmed. Please don’t cut your own fringe. I’m asking nicely ladies! We provide a free fringe trimming service for our customers for maintenance in between salon visits.
